The Pin vice allows three different widths to be used to be attached as illustrated. This product has the 1.6mm diameter (fine) steel pick and a pin vice included.

Steel is less tolerant to heat than tungsten and hence is more prone to sticking to the glass. If you dip in water first it will reduce the incidence of the glass sticking to the pick. It will still heat up and like all tools it is not recommended that you use them in the flame.
