THIS IS A STRIKING COLOUR, which means that it requires heat from a kiln to mature to the colour shown.
Many colours in Bullseye's range that are striking colours may appear pale or even colourless when you receive them. The colours mature to a target colour when fired in a kiln at the right temperature.

Not recommended for Stained Glass or Mosaics.

    Compatible with COE090.

*The dimensions may vary slightly depending on the sheet

  • Striker

This style may not reveal (strike to) its target colour until fired.

    Contains

    Lead

    May React With

    Selenium, Sulphur

    Cold Characteristics

Varies from lighter to darker; sometimes with lighter dappling in single-rolled sheets. Generally lighter and slightly more blue/pink than Cranberry Pink Transparent (001311).

    Working Notes

Colour usually deepens on firing. Possible dark interface reaction with selenium and/or sulphur glasses (000137, 001122, 001125, 000124, 000125, 001137, 001437). Less viscous (softer) than most other glasses. Some gold-bearing striking glasses, like this one, should be fired with a 2-hour hold at 1225°F during the initial stages of the firing cycle. If fired without this hold, they may not strike at all, or they may strike but appear spotty and have a blue-brown cast, as opposed to the desired target colour.

  • This full-fuse schedule effectively strikes these glasses:

    * The initial rate of heat is not a critical factor in successfully striking gold-bearing glasses. Choose an initial rate of heat appropriate to the scale and design of the project that you are firing.

** The remainder of the cycle depends on the thickness of the piece.

LPS ..... So Beautiful

Light Pink Striker is my all-time favourite red/pink from the Bullseye extensive red pallette.
LPS doesn't ever want to flame strike, but it strikes readily and reliably in the kiln so it is easy to prepare for flameworking ( yep I flamework sheet glass cut to sizes that I want : bit odd but there you go, I've been doing it for decades).
An easy and reliable sublime pink when kiln worked, I use it with extra care in the flame. Like all the lead bearing pink/reds it reduces to an ugly grey if it is worked to hot.
It doesn't mind lengthy heat work at all provided the flame temperature is kept a bit gentle : so I try to never lose concentration whe bead-making with it.
The 3mm LSG is a rich pink-red and the 2mm sheet is a significantly gentler hue : and both are utterly lovely.

A gorgeous colour.

This glass can give various hues depending on how it is fired and what it is combined with. I love it.
