Additional Working Notes from our Customer and Tester Liz DeLuca:
"This lush, dark green rod shows a deep transparent shade of green.
It is quite dense in appearance and only shows transparency in finer parts of the bead.
It is very soft glass to work with and melts quite easily. In the mid flame it becomes quite liquid and needs to be worked quite quickly as it retains much heat. If you are using a graphite mold to shape this glass you will find it may devitrify. However, this can easily be reversed by re-entering the bead back into the neutral flame.
I used this glass to create some glass accessories and created two pairs of head pins-some were decorated with speckles of raku frit whilst the others were left in its natural form. when called, the Glass surface returned to its natural dense form, almost taking on an opaque appearance.
You can see from the photos that in some places where it has started to cool down. It turns a secondary shade of green.
This is a great shade of glass to create accessories to floral beads."
